About us

Mail, Copy, and More provides physical and virtual mailbox services, packing, shipping through major carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS), office supplies, printing services, scanning, faxing, notary, passport photos, and much more. Our community is our most important asset, and our reason for existing as a business. We're looking for an experienced Senior Store Associate to join our team.

About the job

  • Put the customer first. Be personable and professional, build rapport with our regulars, and meet each customer at their comfort level. Answer questions and resolve issues with the customer's needs above the shop's convenience and our own egos.
  • Handle packages end to end: receive, organize, and store them, hand them to customers, and ship outbound mail and packages through DHL, FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
  • Run print jobs: color and black-and-white, single- or double-sided, various sizes. Resize and adjust files as needed, then finish them (hole punch, staple, bind, cut, stack, arrange) to the customer's spec. Make copies. Send and receive faxes.
  • Process sales and returns accurately on the point-of-sale system, including the credit card terminal, checks, and cash.
  • Answer the store's phone, voicemail, and email.
  • Keep the store clean and well organized.
  • Take on ambiguous, ambitious problems (for example, "design a new inventory system for this store that we can reuse in future stores") and deliver on time with proactive updates.
  • Help with other duties as directed by the Manager.
  • Physical demands: bend, lift, squat, stand, sit, twist, or reach for up to 8 hours at a time, and regularly lift, push, pull, or drag items up to 25 lbs. Some items weigh more.

About you

  • Available to reliably work about 40 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 6:30 pm, plus Saturdays, 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, on a flexible rotation (roughly every other week). Hours may shift as demand changes, so flexibility matters.
  • Hold a Washington notary public commission, or apply for one in your first week and have it within 3 months of your start date.
  • 2+ years with ShipRite or similar shipping software, or extensive hands-on experience shipping with USPS, UPS, DHL, and FedEx: setting and comparing shipping rates across package sizes, processing inbound and outbound packages, managing mailbox rentals, and managing inventory and pricing.
  • 2+ years on production printers such as the Konica Minolta C361i, C4070 Digital Press, or Epson Stylus Pro 9800: scanning, copying, managing print queues, and changing paper and ink.
  • 2+ years with at least three of these graphics tools: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Canva, GIMP, CorelDRAW. Fluent at creating and editing PDFs and images.
  • Have used an AI assistant (Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT) to edit images and documents.
  • 2+ years with a work/ticket tracker such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or Azure DevOps: defining tasks, knowing what "done" means, keeping tasks current, proactively taking on new work, and documenting improvements to how we work. Familiar with Agile practices like Kanban.
  • A first-principles thinker: break the problem down, plan, take feedback and adjust quickly, execute, give regular updates, and fold in what you learn. Curious and always growing.
  • Comfortable with email, word processing, and routine office administration. Detail oriented.
  • Speak, read, and write English. Communicate openly and constructively with teammates and management, ask insightful questions, and help write employee guides.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits

  • 401(k), if 18 years or older.
  • Dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • We don't offer medical insurance at this time.
  • Paid time off, sick leave, and other benefits.
  • Great teammates and community.

The actual base pay offered will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and on pay equity with the rest of the team. It is not typical for a new hire to start at the high end of the range.
